Welcome Space

Front Lawn Community Hub Welcome Space Launching this April

Front Lawn Community Hub in Havant will be operating a Welcome Space for the community, commencing on Friday 28th April, from 11am – 1:30pm.

Havant-based Front Lawn Community Hub operated by Hampshire FA will offer its indoor café and suite to facilitate a welcome space for members of the local community. The Welcome Space is open and free to all members of the public to attend without signing up, offered to all ages, and will offer every member that comes through its doors with a free beverage and light lunch.

With rising costs in energy prices and the further impact on the most vulnerable members of society, the Welcome Space will offer a very small helping hand to the local community. A chance for members of the public to come and relax with a hot beverage in hand, socialise, and enjoy a light lunch, courtesy of Hampshire FA’s Corporate Social Responsibility team that is funding the monthly set-up. The team will facilitate the monthly Welcome Space and hopes that many local citizens will take up the monthly offer and benefit from it in the process.

The monthly offering which will take place on the last Friday of every month and conclude on Friday 24th November of this year. Members of the public are simply welcome to turn up on the day and be assisted by the site’s staff. We welcome all ages, families, individuals, and community groups to attend. Hampshire FA will further target local organisations such as food banks, homeless shelters, and other organisations designed to support the local community with the free offering and ensure that word of mouth spreads the message as far and as wide as possible.

Due to the space of the site, we can accommodate up to 20 persons in the suite at a time. However, over the course of a few hours, we hope to be able to support the maximum number of people across the duration.

Discussing the new Front Lawn Community Hub Welcome Space, Hampshire FA’s Front Lawn Community Hub manager, Declan Hellyer said

“The Welcome Space is defined by its very title – a welcome space, offered and open to all. We wish to extend a small helping hand to our local community and hope to see the space utilised to its full potential. Whilst football is our core, we operate as a site for the community, so initiatives such as this are always supported by the wider team which is wonderful to see”.
