Not at all; the skills of a mentor are empathy, encouragement, motivation and communication. If you have these in abundance you are the type of person we're looking for.

Yes, you do. Mentors receive a fee to cover time and expenses - for more information on mentor fees please, get in touch.

As much or as little as you can offer - there is no minimum requirement or limit to how much you do.

Just contact our Referee Development Manager, Andy Moisey with your name, home town location, age, FA Number (FAN), availability and number of years’ experience.

Currently there are no referee mentor workshops. However if you are interested in becoming a referee mentor, please contact Andy Moisey the Referee Development Manager.

Any referee can be a Mentor to other referees. If you are a young referee at School, are there other referees there that can assist you with advice or you can offer advice to. Contact Andy Moisey, Referee Development Manager for more details.

You will need to have an in-date FA Criminal Record Check, Safeguarding Children Certificate and have attended one of our Mentor Training courses.

If you don't have an FA CRC, you can apply for one online here. Alternatively, please contact the Hampshire FA Referee Department Manager for details, Andy Moisey.
