FA Grass Pitch Improvement Programme



The Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund Small Grants Scheme awards grants of up to £10,000 for the provision of capital items, or to refurbish/improve existing facilities. The aims of this scheme are to:

  • Support the growth of football clubs and activity.
  • Prevent a decline in football participation.
  • Make improvements to facilities to address any health and safety issues.


The FA and Foundation’s Respect barriers and Respect packs (made up of captains’ armbands, marshals’ bibs and Respect Signage) are available to football leagues and clubs to ensure there is good behaviour by players and parents alike in the grassroots game, with money provided by The FA and vouchers supplied by the Foundation.


The Foundation’s Grow the Game Scheme provides grants of up to £1,500 for the creation of new football teams and coaching qualifications, with money provided by the Premier League and The FA. The Scheme is delivered by the Foundation.

The Grow the Game application window is open from 1 February 2016 until 10 March 2016.

The Hampshire Playing Fields Association (HPFA) advise and support parish/town councils,voluntary clubs and local groups to improve sports, recreational and children’s play facilities within Hampshire. For further information contact the Secretary, HPFA on 01962 779334.
Grants up to £2,500, Loans up to £20,000


Sportivate is a National Lottery funded programme, that aims to encourage inactive young people, aged 11 to 25 to become regularly active. Organisations can apply for grant funding to run 6 to 8 week sporting activities for this age range.


This to provide general support to groups and organisations to encourage and provide opportunities for individuals and communities within Hampshire to participate in community-focused, cultural and recreational activities. Up to £3,000 available.


Sport England have set up a small grants programme to support local community sport projects which seek to increase participation, sustain participation or develop opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport. The grant is open to any bona fide not-for-profit club or association, statutory body or educational establishment.. £300 to £10,000 available.


Amateur sports clubs can take advantage of valuable tax relief and Gift Aid on voluntary donations by registering as a CASC


The Bags 4 Sport Small Grant Fund is available to sports clubs/projects/initiatives in need of extra financial support for their ongoing sustainability and development.  - Up to £500.


The aim is to help volunteers to improve their skills as coaches or officials but are unable to do so without funding. Up to £1,000


Applicants must be registered charities or CASCs. Grants are made for projects which help disabled or disadvantaged people fulfil their potential through sport (capital projects are eligible).


Provides grants for charities and non profit making organisations who run activities which aim to inspire disabled and disadvantaged people through sport - up to £500.
