Royals Youth League
Inspired by ‘The Kings League’ created by Gerard Pique, the Hampshire FA Royals Youth League is a new midweek recreational league coming to Hampshire.
7-A-Side – 40 minute matches
Thursdays 6:30pm to 7:30pm
Stoneham Lane Football Complex
Start dates
Recreational Sessions | 18th May
League Start | 15th June
Alternative Rules
Golden Cards | Each team chooses 2 x Golden cards at the start of the game
Golden Cards can be played by either team at any point in the match. Golden cards include:
- Instant Penalty
- Double Trouble
- Take a Break
- The Joker
- Add a player
- Steal
Dodgeball Style Kick off | Both teams start on the goal line. It is then a race to win the ball
Continuous subs | The match does not stop for substitutions, they are continuous and can be made at any point
No draws | No fixture ends in a draw! If the match is tied at the end of the game, a ‘half way line’ penalty shootout will decide the winner
7v7 matches, although the format is flexible and can be played at 5v5, 6v6 or 9v9.
The Royals Youth League recreational sessions are focused on players having fun and aims to engage all U14/U15 players, particularly those who may be new to football or falling out of love for 'the beautiful game'.
We will be kicking off this exciting new format with four FREE recreational sessions. Individuals can sign up and try it out in FREE sessions that will take place on the 18th & 25th May and 1st & 8th June.
The sessions will take place at Stoneham Lane Football Complex, Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30pm.
After the free sessions, teams will be invited to register to compete in a recreational 'league'. We will look to create teams from those who attended the sessions as individuals or integrate players in to teams entering the league.
All players in the U14 or U15 age group are welcome to come and try one or more free sessions of this format during this time.
If your child or a player in your club/team wishes to register for one or more of the free sessions in May, the below registration form should be complete by a parent/guardian or club official (club officials will be asked to confirm that they have confirmed parental consent for a youth player to attend the session).
