EDI Survey – help us serve our wider community

Hampshire FA are committed to, and are currently working towards achieving the Equality Standard for Sports.

In order to qualify for the preliminary level of the Award, we, as an association, need to collect Equality, Diversity and Inclusion data from the Football Community within our county and meet targets set out by Sport England.

The recognition is awarded by the UK’s main sporting bodies which acknowledge the direction of becoming a more inclusive and diversity County FA as both a business, and regulator of grassroots football.

Survey targets

10% of players, 50% of referees, coaches & club officials.

What this means for our community?

The award would give our ongoing projects the deserved national recognition for the value they bring to our community.

In essence, to grow the grassroots game from an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion perspective, we have to first find out what our community looks like and get a very clear picture of what it needs in order to develop.

By comparing this crucial data to national and local statistics, EDI will become a greater priority in the process of creating development & participation projects within our community.

There is a very important space for specific projects to suit specific demographics – the analysis from this data will allow us to uncover where our efforts are best placed, and further our understanding of our whole community and how to best serve its needs, as well as allowing us to monitor how it grows & changes after each season.
