Stepping Over The Sidelines workshops

Workshops for women and girls of all ages and backgrounds who would like to get into volunteering and coaching within football.

Volunteering in the football community doesn’t need to involve lacing up your boots and getting stuck in during a match. Maybe you enjoy watching the beautiful game, and simply have an interest in helping it grow through the transferable skills that you have?

The FA ‘Stepping Over The Sidelines’ workshops are for women and girls of all ages and backgrounds who would like to get into volunteering and coaching within football.

This programme is designed to allow women with transferrable skills and expertise from other backgrounds to inspire change within the youth game. Your valuable insight from experiences outside of football may just be the advice our girls' youth team needs to progress their development and feel inspired to influence change within the game.

You don’t have to be an expert to help our girls' youth teams gain confidence, learn new skills, and absorb some of your knowledge to further their growth through coaching.

In the video below, Catherine Perry-Jones, a coach at Little Canfield Stars takes us through a journey of how she started out in coaching.

The session will take place on Monday 27th February between 7pm – 9pm at our Stoneham Lane Football Complex (SO16 2PA) and will be delivered by our Female Pathway Football Development Officer, Hannah Humphreys.

There is no initial commitment, and the free session will act as an introduction to the programme, and how you can potentially play a key part in it. All we ask is to register your interest using the form below ahead of the workshop.

If you have any questions prior to registering or attending, please contact Hannah.Humphreys@HampshireFA.com
