Hampshire FA Jeans for Jeans House

Wear your jeans and help families of children and young people facing cancer

Young Lives vs Cancer, the UK’s leading charity for children and young people with cancer, is asking schools, work teams and groups to join Hampshire FA in wearing jeans to raise money for their Home from Home in Southampton.

The money raised will go to the running of Jean’s House, a Young Lives vs Cancer Home from Home. Jean’s House is a free place for families of children and young people facing cancer to stay nearby to Southampton hospital.

Families are welcome to stay at Jean’s House for as long as they need to, which could be anything from a night to many months. As well as helping keep families nearby, it also cuts the costs of cancer too. Young Lives vs Cancer’s research shows that on average a family spends an extra £730 a month when they have a child going through cancer treatment so the Home is a way to help reduce financial worries.

Every group who takes part in Jeans for Jean’s House will be helping towards the running of the Home, to help keep families together while their child is going through treatment. Each participant  will be asked to donate £2 to wear their jeans, which will go towards helping families of children and young people with cancer.

It costs Young Lives vs Cancer £38 a night for a family to stay at Jean’s House. The money raised through Jeans for Jean’s House will help towards these running costs and make sure the charity can continue to provide a free place for families to stay.

Neil Cassar, CEO at Hampshire FA said:

"We are delighted to be working with Young Lives vs Cancer. Cancer has a devastating effect on everyday life, and we look forward to supporting them with donations and fundraising initiatives for the vital work they do. Every single contribution counts”.
