Hampshire-headquartered Bargate Homes has struck a two-year deal with Hampshire Football Association to become the headline sponsor of the £9million Stoneham Lane Football Complex, which is close to Southampton Airport and Eastleigh town centre.

The facility is shared with grassroots clubs and leagues and has 60,000 members. Stoneham Lane is part of the Parklife Project, a Football Association initiative to ensure the income generated at football clubs is put back into funding grassroots football within the local area.

The sponsorship deal has been struck to coincide with Bargate Homes’ launch of Heritage Place, located only a mile from the football complex. The £97m Heritage Place scheme represents the final phase of North Stoneham Park, where a new community of over 1,000 homes is being created on a former deer park on the outskirts of Eastleigh. Bargate Homes is on site delivering 322 eco-focused family homes.

The sponsorship funds from Bargate Homes will be reinvested back into Stoneham Lane Football Complex, to support the facility’s running costs and maintenance. Surplus funds will contribute towards the installation of LED floodlights.

Neil Cassar, CEO of Hampshire Football Association, said: “We are delighted that Bargate Homes has chosen to opt for a two-year agreement with Hampshire FA for the Stoneham Lane Football Complex headline sponsorship. The facility now has a partner compatible with its values and a sincere commitment to supporting the local community - and additionally the grassroots community.

“Headquartered in nearby Fair Oak, Bargate Homes has built an enviable reputation locally, not just for the quality and individuality of their homes and developments but for their 'purpose beyond profit' philosophy of giving back to the local areas they build in by way of community enhancement investment and support.

“Stoneham Lane Football Complex has achieved several milestones since the facility opened its doors and now exceeds over 60,000 registered members. The Bargate brand will be prominently displayed across the facility and will serve a proud place for the duration of this partnership and hopefully beyond.”

Bargate Homes is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vivid – Hampshire’s largest provider of affordable homes. 124 of the 322 homes at Heritage Place in North Stoneham Park will be purpose-built for Vivid, for shared ownership and affordable rent.

Mark White, Managing Director of Bargate Homes, said: "This is the kind of initiative we love to do, supporting grass roots football on the doorstep of our Heritage Place development. It's wonderful to think that the new community of 322 homes that we are on site delivering will be able to walk to such an excellent facility to enjoy organised training and games."

Bargate Homes has unveiled Heritage Place - its largest scheme to date - with a completed street scene and two fully furnished show homes. The first homes will be ready to move into before the end of this year. A range of three-, four- and five-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes are available in the first release, with prices ranging from £485,000 to £715,000.

Bargate Homes has worked alongside Eastleigh Borough Council and Winchester City Council’s Design Review Panel to ensure Heritage Place – which is located to the west of Avenue Park – fully complements the existing residential at North Stoneham Park. Close attention has also been paid to maximise linkages to the local centre, which opened to the public in May 2021 with a café, community hall and day nursery, and to Stoneham Park Primary Academy, which welcomed its first pupils in September 2020.

All homes at Heritage Place will be EPC-B Rated, ensuring future residents can significantly lower their carbon footprint and benefit from energy savings. Google Nest learning thermostats, electric vehicle car chargers, and fibre broadband, are all installed as standard.

Heritage Place is open daily from 10am – 5pm, accessed off Highwood Avenue, SO50 9RJ. For further information, please call 02381 600595, or email heritageplace@bargatehomes.co.uk.
