Gosham Rangers  3  Barleycorn  1

The final was played at Westleigh Park, Havant, on 22nd May 2022 and was sponsored by Horris Hill School and the match balls were sponsored by Havant and East Hants Mind.

A minute's silence was observed before the kick-off in memory of Robin Osborne, President of the Hampshire Football Association who recently passed away.

Gosham made the best start in an evenly matched final. They nearly opened the scoring in the first few minutes when Dean Clarke headed just wide. Just after this Lee Grey hit the Barleycorn bar.

The breakthrough came in in the 25th minute when Patrick Walsh converted a cross.

Barleycorn hit back when Keith Bailey hooked the ball goal-bound but 'keeper' Dan Smith got the slightest of touches to save a goal. Barleycorn had the misfortune to lose Mike Smith in the 36th minute through injury. He was replaced by Callum Godden.

They were further handicapped early in the second half when they conceded a penalty which Clarke put away via the underside of the bar.

Barleycorn nearly got back into the game when Jay Malerian headed just wide from a cross.

Clarke then put in a long range shot which brought out a good save from 'keeper' Joe Jolley.

In the 77th minute Malerian pulled one back for Barleycorn with a close range header.

As Gosham pressed Clarke missed a sitter with only the 'keeper' to beat which would have secured the cup, however in the 89th minute they did secure it with a penalty. Clarke was brought down in the box and scored from the spot kick not with the help of the crossbar on this occasion.

The Player of the Match award went to Gosham's Dan Stride.

The Referee was Tom Wells and he was Assisted by Brendon Bone and Gary Watson. The Fourth Official was Nyasha Mukachana.
