HAMPSHIRE FA WOMEN’S SENIOR CUP FINAL SPONSORED BY ADOPT SOUTH
⚽ PORTSMOUTH FC WOMEN v SOUTHAMPTON FC WOMEN
📅 WEDNESDAY 30TH MARCH 2022 – 19:45 BST KO
🏟 SILVERLAKE STADIUM, EASTLEIGH
Last year’s final saw a record-high crowd of 1,100 entertained by and end-to-end game that eventually finished 1-1 at Westleigh Park, Havant. The game reached a dramatic climax in the penalty shootout, in which both goalkeepers make good saves, before Southampton FC goalkeeper, Kayla Rendell, rattled the crossbar with the final penalty, handing the victory to Portsmouth.
Since then, the two teams have moved even closer to each other in the Women’s football pyramid, with Southampton achieving promotion to join Portsmouth in the Southern Premier Division of the FA National League (third tier of women’s football in England). Southampton currently sit 3rd in the league, 10 points ahead (with three games in hand) of Portsmouth, currently sat in 8th.
The Saints, having already beat Portsmouth twice so far this season (once in the league and once in the Women’s FA Cup), will be seeking revenge for last season’s heart-breaking defeat. Meanwhile, Pompey will be looking to come out on top for the second year running in this competition.
We’re delighted to be able to welcome spectators to this event (*subject to COVID-19 guidance at the time). Last year’s Hampshire FA Women’s Senior Cup Final attracted a great attendance of over 1,100. We're expecting an equally impressive turnout for this year's repeat fixture!
We are planning on having e-ticketing available in advance of this event. As soon as tickets are available, details on how to purchase will be added here.
