UEFA Women's EURO 2022 - Southampton Anthem

Join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Westquay later this month

This month, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will be running workshops in Westquay to help create an anthem for Southampton as a host city for UEFA Women's EURO 2022.

Musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will use photographs and items related to women's football in Southampton to act as creative impetus for workshops. They will work with participants to tease out musical and lyrical ideas for expressing the City's history, pride and hopes for women’s football. No prior musical experience is required to take part in workshops, and participants will be provided with instruments and resources. The team will support participants to engage musically and creatively in a way that suits them. The musicians will then take away all the ideas produced in the workshops and compile them into a women's football anthem especially for Southampton. This anthem will be performed at a Fan Party on one of the Southampton Match Days in July 2022.
