Hampshire FA Sunday U15's Cup Final
This was a close fought cup final with defences dominating and therefore goal chances were rare. Both goalkeepers were called into early action, first Cove's Will Cornwall saved with his feet and then Baffins' Bailey Neil saved a long-range shot from James Wakeling.
Gradually Baffins began to dominate and Ben Sharpe put in a good run and finished with a powerful shot which was well saved.
Baffins started the second half well on top but it was Cove who opened the scoring in the 54th minute. Morgan Bushell benefitted from a mix-up in the penalty area and found the ball at his feet which he netted from close range.
Baffins hit back in the 60th minute when Harrison Cable scored with a shot across the face of the goal but it was Cove who dominated the rest of the match.
A good chance fell to Luis Hamelin from a long ball which resulted in a good save and then he was presented with another chance but screwed his shot wide.
It was Hamelin, however, who won the cup for Cove in the 72nd minute when he turned the defender in the box and forced a good save for a corner and then from the kick the ball hit the bar and he netted the rebound.
The match was sponsored by Savvy Accountancy Solutions.
The Referee was Harry Deacon and his Assistants were Alistair Auferio and Sean Tiller. The Fourth Official was Colin Hopkins.
The Player of the Match Award went to Cove's Morgan Bushell.
