Facilities and Investment

Investing in the future of the grassroots game

The FA, Premier League and Sport England created the Football Foundation in 2000 to drive investment to improve grassroots football facilities and support access for all regardless of postcode, gender, race or disability.

Despite the success in the number of grants awarded to improving facilities it is more vital than ever to transform the fortunes of poor-quality grass pitches and to address the huge under-supply of artificial pitches.

Hampshire FA play a vital role in the identification, activation, development and delivery of facility projects at a local level.

Thanks to investment from the Premier League, FA and Football Foundation, we’ve been able to support grassroots football in Hampshire; here’s how we did it…

FACILITIES WORKSHOPS

Pitch Renovations & Maintaining Your Pitch Out Of Season | May 2023 - Stoneham Lane Football Complex

Facilities manager delivering a talk

"This was a very informative workshop and provided a wealth of information and advice for renovating and maintaining pitches out of season. The team that took the workshop were very experienced and knowledgeable and were able to provide guidance that was extremely helpful and I have already been able to put this into practice. Hopefully the work undertaken since the workshop will provide good pitches for the new season."

Simon Wood
Clanfield FC

"I thought the workshop was excellent and I picked up some really useful information."

Brett Athow
Operations Manager, Hedge End Town Council

"Many thanks for the invitation to attend the pitch renovations seminar. I found it very useful as this is my first season looking after the pitch here at Hayling United. I especially found that talking to the team helped me improve where to go moving forward. I am looking forward to hopefully spending several years doing the maintenance for the club, and hopefully getting the support from The FA."
