FA Mars Just Play! is a key part of The FA’s National Game Strategy. The primary aim is to create flexible opportunities to increase the quality and quantity of football participation for all and to raise standards within it.
The key areas that the strategy aims to develop are:
• Adult male and female 11 v11
• Veterans 11v11
• Youth male and female 11v11 (16-18)
• Transition of youth football into adult football
• Small sided football
• Flexible formats of football
• Regularity of play
• Quality of non-affiliated football
• Infrastructure around teams
• Creation of new teams
For some players affiliated football is not an option, because of the lack of desire, time commitment, ability or simply that they don’t want to play competitive football. For these players, FA Mars Just Play! Kickabouts, delivered across the country at FA Mars Just Play Centres in association with FA Just Play Officers, County FAs and other partners, offer a viable alternative to allow them to engage with the game in an organised, but informal way.
FA Mars Just Play! is purely for adults, for men, for women, for those who think they’re talented and for those who think they aren’t. It’s also for those with a disability or for 16–25s or women-only or even veterans; there’s a kickabout designed specifically for you, whatever your age or ability.
This will, for many adults, be the first step on their pathway to playing affiliated football. Following on from this Hampshire FA offer a range of options to engage players at all stages of this pathway. Find out more about the ways you could get involved by visiting the Recreational Football page
