HAMPSHIRE FA STATEMENT

This statement is issued following the earlier announcement by The FA in respect of new lockdown restrictions

Please see the below statement from Hampshire FA CEO, Neil Cassar, regarding the latest FA update on COVID-19

It is with regret that Hampshire FA is required to take the following actions:

  • Winklebury Football Complex, Stoneham Lane Football Complex and Front Lawn Community Hub to be closed from 5 November until 2 December 2020 (any payments made for bookings in this period will be held as credit and applied in the following month(s)
  • All Hampshire FA cup finals scheduled from last season between now and 2 December 2020 will be postponed (with exception of Midweek U18 Cup Final to be played at Stoneham Lane Football Complex on 3 November 2020 which will be played behind closed doors)
  • All education courses (coaching, medical, safeguarding, refereeing) to be held between 5 November and 2 December 2020 to be cancelled and held prior to Christmas if possible to do so (refunds will be issued if course cannot be completed)
  • To operate with a reduced workforce during lockdown with a number of staff to be on furlough leave until 2 December 2020

We will continue to update our members through updates on our website and social media channels as we prepare for the return of grassroots football.

We appreciate the hard work and endeavour of all of our leagues, clubs and members over the last few months to provide football in a safe and Covid-19 secure environment and we hope that these new restrictions will enable football to return next month for all to enjoy.
