Through its website and unique network of Local Leaders, organised by county, Join In has inspired thousands of volunteers in sport and assisted in connecting them with local sports groups and events which need help.

Volunteers are the life-blood of sport, and Join In’s research reveals that each volunteer in sport can facilitate up to 8.5 additional participants. By connecting sports clubs with volunteers, Join In helps create capacity for more people to lead happier and healthier lives through sport.

Volunteering doesn’t have to mean a big commitment. Whether you can spare a few hours every other weekend, have more spare time during the week, or just want help out on an ad-hoc basis, you can find the right opportunity to fit around your life. If you have a particular skill you’d like to share – whether it’s coaching or accountancy – make sure you let the club know, and see if they could use your help. But there are plenty of opportunities to help in other ways, such as helping with the sandwiches, driving teams to away matches or helping to organise events.

Each club is different – and there’ll always be a way that you can lend a hand. If you'd like to know more click here.
