Powerleague Secures Double Success with New Commercial Partnership and Affiliation

Powerleague affiliates all Hampshire leagues to Hampshire FA marking a significant expansion.

Powerleague, a leading small-sided football provider in the UK, has secured a major commercial partnership, affiliating all its Hampshire leagues to the Hampshire FA. This move marks a significant step forward in the company's ongoing commitment to promoting football at all levels.

Powerleague, affiliated with The FA, operates one of the largest networks of football leagues across the UK. Since 1987, the company has been organising and managing football leagues, providing FA-qualified officials, high-quality equipment, and comprehensive administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient league operations.

As part of this new partnership, Powerleague has now affiliated all 18 of its Hampshire leagues, which are spread across key locations such as Aldershot, Bordon, Bournemouth, Christchurch, Fareham, Yateley, Havant, Fleet, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Portsmouth at the King George V Football Complex, and Southampton at the Stoneham Lane Football Complex. This expansion supports over 200 teams in the region.

The partnership between Hampshire FA and Powerleague began in the 2023/24 season and has already proven to be mutually beneficial. Powerleague has taken full advantage of the commercial opportunities provided by the County FA, while Hampshire FA has collaborated with Powerleague to support various events and tournaments throughout the season.

One of the most notable successes of this partnership is the new league at the King George V Football Complex, which launched earlier this year with 10 teams. The success of this league has prompted Powerleague to affiliate all its Hampshire leagues with Hampshire FA, further solidifying their presence in the county.

We’re delighted to be extending our partnership with Hampshire FA and further increasing opportunities for local communities to access the small, sided game. Regular football has so many benefits as well as being a great social activity. With plenty planned for 2024/25 in addition to our eighteen (and growing!) small, sided leagues in Hampshire, we look forward to where the relationship with Hampshire FA can take us and the opportunities it will generate for footballers of all ages” Chris Dickson, Powerleague National Development Manager.

Neil Cassar, CEO of Hampshire FA, commented on the partnership's success: “The perks associated with the partner programme have undoubtedly created more opportunities for both organisations. Powerleague has realised the potential of what we offer, and as a result, the partnership is going from strength to strength. Affiliating over 200 teams based on the successes of a season is evidence of what can be achieved when two organisations work together and find mutual benefits in their offerings. We hope that this successful case study will inspire others to follow suit”.
