No, all you need is enthusiasm and passion for developing players. Our coaching courses will give you the basic information you need to coach.

The first step is to speak with your local club and to get involved in coaching for a team. From there you can find out more about it and then book yourself onto one of our Level 1 courses.

Yes, as part of the requirements to book onto a level 1 course you must be associated with a club.

All you need is a criminal records check (CRC). If you’re part of a Charter Standard Club you will also need a Level 1 coaching course as a minimum which includes the FA Emergency Aid and FA Safeguarding Children qualifications too.

Each coaching course has its own specific pre-requisites (some are open entry) and these can be found on each course specific page on the Coaching Courses page of our website. It is the learner’s responsibility to ensure they meet the pre-requisites before booking onto the chosen course.

No, the coaching qualifications do not expire but Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children qualifications expire 3 years from the date of the course.

You can access upcoming courses by visiting the Development & Course page and clicking the relevant course titles. You can book onto any of Hampshire FA courses by visiting our Development & Courses page on our website here (link to the development & courses page). If you click on the title of the course you are interested in more information will be available for you to view as well as a link to the most recent course(s) available.

The FA Emergency Aid and FA Safeguarding Children certificates can be accessed online 48 hours after you complete the course. The FA Level 1 certificate will be sent to you within 6-8 weeks of completion.

You can attend our coaching workshops throughout the season which will give you more session ideas and information. Additionally, you can join the FA Licensed Coaches Club for free which has many sessions and videos.

FAN's are issued whenever you are involved in football. This could be through completing an FA course, being involved with a club or even purchasing England tickets, so it is highly likely you already have a FAN.
