Hampshire County Futsal League

We are pleased to announce the first ever open County Futsal Leagues....

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided football game that is widely played across the world and is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA.

Futsal was important in helping to develop my ball control, quick thinking, passing… also for dribbling, balance, concentration… Futsal was very, very important, no doubt.”  (Pele, World Cup Winner: 1958, 1962 & 1970)

The nature of the game places a large emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure, and is subsequently an excellent breeding ground for football competencies that can be translated into the 11-a-side format of the game.

Many of the top world class footballers played Futsal in their youth and credit it with supporting their footballing development and now there is an opportunity for any male or female teams aged 16+ to enter the County's first ever open league dedicated to competitive futsal.

Following the success of many local recreation futsal hubs, the first ever open league for male and female teams aged 16+ will commence on February 26th 2016 for males and March 11th 2016 for females.

Matches will take place on Friday evenings at Sparsholt College in Winchester, and teams will only play one fixture per month.
