Play For Competition Girls

2018 saw the launch of the Hampshire Girls Youth Football League, which was the culmination of a number of years of hard work by the former committees of existing girls leagues. This has now created a streamline pathway for girls football within Hampshire from U7 right through to U18, and stronger links to the Hampshire County Women’s League to extend participation into Adult football.

The Hampshire Girls Youth Football League, will boast almost 200 teams and 4000 players in 2019/20 season, contributing to the rapid growth and development of the game. The league’s strict ethos on development for all girls means teams are placed in divisions that are relevant and appropriate to promote fun and learning and ensuring that a lifelong love for the game continues.

The England Talent Pathway

The FA Girls’ England Talent Pathway was put in place to support the identification and development of those with elite potential.

The next step from a Grassroots Club is within a Regional Talent Club (RTC). An RTC is an enhanced coaching centre for U10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups, and allows players identified as having elite potential the opportunity to access appropriate levels of coaching and support.

Your local RTC is at Southampton FC.
