Lymington Town FC Unveils Upgraded Changing Pavilion in Hampshire

Lymington Town FC (LTFC) has officially opened its improved changing pavilion, thanks to a grant from the Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) – the largest funders of non-league football in the country.

The funding has enabled Lymington Town to extend and refurbish their changing pavilion. The old pavilion, which was in danger of falling below the standards required of LTFC’s Step 5 position, now includes: improved team changing rooms; two brand new officials’ changing rooms; a clubroom with a bar; a kitchen and more accessible spectator toilets.

The club, which currently plays in the Wessex League Premier Division, are delighted with the refurbished facility, which will help them to attract and retain players, members and spectators alike.

With the pavilion now meeting the requirements of the FA National Ground Grading Criteria, Lymington Town FC can provide their players with a much safer and more comfortable experience, whilst also encouraging more spectators to come along and take advantage of the new facility.

The project was made possible by a £100,000 grant from the Premier League, which is delivered through the Football Foundation – the sister organisation of the Football Foundation. New Forest District Council and the English Cricket Board provided the remaining funding to deliver the scheme in conjunction with Lymington Town Council who applied for the funding in partnership with the football and cricket clubs. Hampshire FA, the Hampshire Cricket Board and New Forest District also worked with the Clubs and Town Council to ensure the project was fit for purpose.

George Shaw, Lymington Town FC’s Chairman, said: “We are so grateful to the Football Stadia Improvement Fund for the £100,000 grant. This money was critical in enabling the project to go ahead. The new pavilion is absolutely superb and will serve us well into the future.”

Peter McCormick OBE, Chairman of the Football Stadia improvement Fund, said: “The news that Lymington Town FC have opened their upgraded changing pavilion, thanks to investment from the Premier League, is excellent for the club. The improved pavilion will help them to attract and retain players, as they can offer a state-of-the-art facility.

“The FSIF directs money from the Premier League into improving the standard of lower-league stadia. This is helping to develop the provision of football at lower levels of the game, and make facilities safer. Congratulations to the club for securing this funding.”
