The Southampton Health Kicks Midweek Floodlit League was set up as part of the Get into Football programme in Southampton. The league runs from October – April every year with all matches played on either a Monday or Wednesday evening on artificial pitches in Southampton. Teams play no more than 1 match each week with kick off times at 7pm, 7.30pm, 8pm or 8.30pm. Matches last 80 minutes in length and are split into two 40 minute halves. In addition to the League fixtures, the League also runs a League Cup and League Plate competition every season, with the advance stages of the competition being played on grass floodlit pitches.
The League has made it as easy as possible for teams to enter. All teams are required to do is complete the team registration and player registration forms and make payment. The league pays for and take care of everything else, including submitting affiliation forms to Hampshire FA. The Southampton Health Kicks Midweek Floodlit League is encompassed by the value of RESPECT. Teams are encouraged to maintain this ethos in their attitude and behaviour towards all other players, spectators, and officials.
Following on from the success of the 2011/12 season the League will be looking to introduce a Veterans (over 35’s) Division for Season 2012/13.
