• Growth and Retention
• Raising Standards
• Better Players
• Running The Game
• Workforce
• Facilities
The focus in these different areas was based on priorities that had been established in consultation with the football community. The main areas highlighted were retention of adult 11 v 11 football, behaviour on and off the pitch, recruitment and retention of referees, and facility improvement. The achievements in this report show how we have tried to focus our efforts in these areas.
This has been made possible through two officers who are devoted full time to grow adult participation in Southampton and throughout Hampshire with the long term benefits from this approach to become evident in the foreseeable future.
The Respect programme has been implemented to improve behaviour and has made a real impact in youth football and this long term programme will be a continuing focus. Referees have established a new delivery structure which has made a real impact in the development of referees and a facility working group has been established by the Hampshire FA board which is currently focusing on the protection of playing fields.
A new plan has been written to build on the good work from the last 3 years which will take us to 2015 where we will hope to see similar progress.
