Local Area Data
The FA has produced for every local authority in the country a comprehensive set of participation data.
This is based on affiliation and compares on a regional and national basis how much of the relevant population are playing the game.
The other key area of focus is the percentage of Charter Standard teams in each area.
This has been compared to last season and will help identify where we develop football within the county. The data is available to view by clicking on your local area in the documents on the right hand side.
For more information about this data and how it affects your area please contact Sacha Nicholas, County Development Manager, on 01256 853018 or email Sacha.Nicholas@HampshireFA.com
National Game Strategy
Hampshire FA is committed to developing the game at grassroots level and by producing a new 4 year County Plan, consisting of a comprehensive consultation process we aim to achieve the objectives of The FA's National Game Strategy to 2012.
A strategy steering group was established in January 2008 comprised of members of the Hampshire FA Board, council and staff. The group, chaired by Thura Win, Deputy Chairman of Hampshire FA, was given the responsibility of co-ordinating the consultation process.
A series of consultation workshops were set up at five central venues across the county including Portsmouth FC, Southampton FC and AFC Bournemouth with the purpose of gathering information from key stakeholders regarding the strategy for the next four years. A range of groups attended the workshops; Divisional Football Associations, Leagues and Competitions, Charter Standard Clubs, Local Authorities, County Sports Partnership members, Coaches, Referees and representatives from specific football projects such as Baseline (Crime Concern) and all took the opportunity to 'have their say'.
This report contains a summary of all the information gathered from the consultation process and highlights the priorities according to those that attended the events. This information was combined with the data collected from nearly a thousand completed online questionnaires and is being used to shape the Hampshire FA County Plan for 2008-2012.
